ABOUT THE PROJECT
St. Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park: A Landmark of Faith and Innovation
Rising above the town of Bayambang, Pangasinan, the St. Vincent Ferrer Statue stands as both a symbol of devotion and a feat of modern engineering.
Recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest bamboo sculpture in the world, the statue pays tribute to Bayambang’s patron saint, St. Vincent Ferrer, while showcasing Filipino creativity and resilience.
Design and Construction
Height: 50.23 meters (164.8 feet), including its base
Materials: 60 tons of engineered bamboo and 600 tons of steel
Foundation: 7.5 meters deep, reinforced with 6,000 psi cement

History and Inspiration
The vision for the project was inspired by a trip taken by Mary Clare Judith Phyllis “Niña” Jose-Quiambao, wife of Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao, who was deeply moved by a remarkable bamboo structure she saw in Myanmar.
Determined to create a symbol of faith and identity for Bayambang, the local government and the Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation worked together to fund and realize the project.
Captivated by its artistry and symbolism, she envisioned creating a similar landmark in Bayambang—one that would embody the town’s deep faith, cultural pride, and shared identity.
Motivated by this vision, the Local Government of Bayambang and the Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation, Inc. (KKBFI) joined hands to bring the idea to life.
Their collaboration went beyond infrastructure—it was a mission to unite the community under a shared symbol of hope and devotion.
The project also aimed to promote sustainable construction by using bamboo, an abundant and eco-friendly local resource that represents resilience and growth.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the project took place on June 20, 2018, marking the beginning of what would become a monumental achievement for the people of Bayambang.
Through months of careful planning, engineering, and craftsmanship, local artisans and volunteers worked tirelessly to transform the vision into reality.
Less than a year later, on April 5, 2019, the Saint Vincent Ferrer Statue was officially inaugurated.
Its unveiling coincided with two important milestones: the 400th anniversary of the Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish and the 600th death anniversary of Saint Vincent Ferrer, the town’s patron saint.
The event drew thousands of pilgrims and visitors, celebrating not only a masterpiece of design but also a powerful testament to Bayambang’s enduring faith and unity.
Today, the statue stands not only as a record-breaking landmark but also as a lasting reminder of what a united community can achieve through shared vision, devotion, and purpose.
Cultural and Economic Impact
The St. Vincent Ferrer Statue stands as a proud testament to Bayambang’s enduring heritage—where faith, culture, and innovation come together to inspire the world.
Rising high above the town’s skyline, this monumental structure serves as a powerful symbol of devotion to Bayambang’s patron saint, Saint Vincent Ferrer, the “Angel of Peace.”
Built primarily from engineered bamboo, the statue represents not only the community’s deep spiritual roots but also its commitment to sustainability and creative craftsmanship.
Since its unveiling in 2019, the statue has evolved into more than a religious landmark—it has become a national symbol of faith and resilience.
Pilgrims, tourists, and architecture enthusiasts alike are drawn to its beauty and ingenuity, with many making the journey to Bayambang to marvel at its intricate design and awe-inspiring scale.
Its recognition by the Guinness World Records as the world’s tallest bamboo sculpture further placed Bayambang on the global map, earning admiration for both its artistry and the community spirit that made it possible.
Beyond its spiritual significance, the St. Vincent Ferrer Statue has transformed Bayambang into a thriving center of faith tourism.
The site has spurred growth in local businesses, particularly in hospitality, transportation, and food services, creating new livelihood opportunities for residents. Festivals and events surrounding the statue have also strengthened the town’s cultural identity, encouraging visitors to experience Bayambang’s warmth, creativity, and devotion firsthand.
More than a monument, the St. Vincent Ferrer Statue embodies the collective vision and perseverance of the Bayambangueños.
It is a constant reminder that faith, when combined with unity and innovation, can give rise to extraordinary achievements.
As it continues to attract visitors from across the Philippines and beyond, the statue stands not only as a beacon of Bayambang’s faith but also as a symbol of its progress, pride, and unyielding hope for the future.
